Henryetta’s high school girls golf team will be heading to the 3A state tournament next week after taking the runner-up spot Tuesday.
Playing at Fountainhead golf course against 21 other schools, the HHS team posted a 383 score putting them just behind Oklahoma Christian School.
Henryetta junior Skylar Smallwood was the runner-up medalist with an 86 during the day that saw high winds making each shot more difficult.
Lady Knight golf member Lottie Johnson had a 96 for the day with Mabrey Been posting a 100, Emily Stockholm 101 and Skylar Morris with 105.
“The girls played hard and were determined,” said coach Dutch VanDenBorn. “They will be playing in Norman at Westwood golf course at the state tournament.”
On the boys team, James Birson qualified as an individual to compete in the regional tournament at Claremore May 3.
