A new Henryetta girls basketball coach will be on the court when school starts in August.
Rodney Bencoma was hired at a special school board meeting Thursday morning. Bencoma comes to Henryetta from Kiefer. Prior to that, he was a Weleetka Lady Outlaws coach.
The hiring was part of the agenda that included acceptance of resignations from Tim Gillispie, Michale Hughes and Lucas and Kristina Stidman. Gillispie will be retiring from the classroom teaching duties but will serve as lay coach for the HHS track and cross country sports.
Board members also eliminated the school nurse position.
Following a nearly 30-minute executive session, board members rehired certified teachers as well as non-certified personnel, child nutrition workers, maintenance personnel and bus drivers.
