The night sky around Henryetta was punctuated by skyrockets and just about every other type of illumination Sunday.
This year's Fourth of July celebration saw firework stands struggling to meet orders with shortages coming from national distributors. That did not stop people from rushing to the stands and stock up during the days prior to the big night.
this year Shane Sanford at Highway 63 Fireworks said he still intends to put on the display at Nichols Park Saturday, July 10 but did say the display may be shorter than in years past
For the most part, residents enjoyed a safe and fun holiday weekend. The only incident reported by police was an accident involving a go-kart and a pickup around 9 Sunday evening. Minor injuries were reported in that accident.
