Henryetta students of all grades walked to class Wednesday morning.
They were participating in the National Walk to School day, an event the school has been participating in for the past five years.
The students gathered in the St. Michael’s church parking lot then, led by a group of HHS seniors and the Knight Brigade band, they headed to class on foot, bicycle and even scooter.
A number of parents and teachers accompanied the students along the several-blocks-long trek.
Organized by the Partnership for a Walkable America, Walk to School Day in the USA began in 1997 as a one-day event aimed at building awareness for the need for walkable communities.
