Bealko is directing “Out Skirts” in the One Act Festival in New York. Written by Shelby Pickelny, Out Skirts is an exploration of homelessness today and uses insight from a local social worker to offer the audience an unseen perspective on the unhoused members of the community and the publicly-shared shelters in which they reside.The one act drama was first performed June 8 followed by a June 15 performance then live-streamed June 25.
Part of the ticket proceeds go to Women In Need, a nonprofit that supports women and children in NYC who are currently experiencing homelessness.
Last year Bealko was named Best Director for her work in “The Art of Peaking Too Soon,” in the New York Theatre Festival.
