bullard retire

Outgoing Henryetta fire chief David Bullard (left) was the center of attention Friday at his retirement party. Held at the fire station, nearly 100 friends, area fire department personnel and well wishers were on hand to help him mark the end of 14 years leading the fire department. During his time, he saw the department move from its cramped location on South Fourth  to the renovated former national guard building. He was responsible for adding several new fire trucks and worked to lower the fire classification that has resulted in lower insurance premiums. Acting fire chief Tyler Weiland was the emcee for the celebration and will be serving as chief until a replacement if officially hired by the city council. Bullard will become the new Henryetta city manager Monday, October 2.
