For the second time in two years the Knights are going to the playoffs.
They cinched that trip with the 38-7 win over Keys Friday night. The first round up playoffs will pit the Knights against the Idabel Warriors at Idabel this Friday.
The Warriors finished their regular season with a 49-13 win over Eufaula. That gave Idabel a perfect 7-0 district season and remain undefeated for the entire regular football season.
Henryetta finished up the regular season with six wins and four losses and placed fourth in the district with a 4-3 record.
At Keys, Nick Hudson provided five of the six touchdowns for the Knights with Will Perez adding the sixth.
Hudson scored twice in the opening quarter, both of them on two yard runs. He would add another inside the three=minute mark in the second quarter then Perez took a 33-yard pass from Brady Norman as the half-time buzzer sounded. Keys got the only touchdown of the night in the opening minute of the second quarter from one yard out.
Hudson punched in from 11 yards out in the third period for a TD then got the final goal in the fourth on a 33 yard run.
Henryetta’s offense got to see a lot of action at Keys. The Knights ran 48 plays, all but five were running plays for 333 yards. Keys had 27 tries on the ground bit could only get 45 yards. The Knights threw them for 62 yards in losses.
Henryetta threw the ball 11 times completing five for 66 yards while Keys went 14 of 23 tries for 75 yards.
Individually, Hudson had 205 yards rushing that put his season total to 1,051. David Reid chalked up 72 yards at Keys for a year’s total of 548. Perez is right behind him with 316 for the year.
Over the ten games this year, Norman has thrown the ball 127 times with 68 completions for a total of 1,160 yards.
