For a time it appeared as though the Knights would pull off a win at the district tournament in Holdenville Saturday night.
The Knights held their own in the first three quarters but the Wolverines shut down the Henryetta offense to take a 70-50 win.
That means the Knights will be playing Prague at the Red Devils’ gym at 2:30 Thursday afternoon.
Henryetta trailed 15-11 at the end of the first period but, boosted by a trio of three-pointers from Skylar Greenhaw, they finished up the half with a 32-30 lead.
That battle continued in the third period with Holdenville gaining a two point, 44-42 advantage going into the final frame.
That’s where the problems started. The Wolverines picked up 26 points but the Knights could only score eight.
HHS senior Nick Hudson got his 1,000-point mark in that fourth quarter with a free throw and two point field goal. He added a total of 19 points to the overall Knight score.
Greenhaw was kept away from the basked in the third period and could only get two points in the fourth but tallied 15 on the night. Talon Weaver was also in the double digits with 14 points.
