Henryetta High School Honor Choir

For the first time in at least a decade, Henryetta high school will have choir members going to state competition.
At a district contest in Tahlequah Tuesday the HHS advanced honor choir had an excellent rating for their sight reading contest. That, coupled with their stage performance superior rating, they qualified for the state contest.
During the district contest, the Henryetta Middle School choir composed of seventh and eighth grade students received an excellent rating on their sight reading contest and superior rating on the state performance.
Choir instructor Karen Willis pointed out the sight reading contest is a test of the student’s abilities. “This called for them to perform music that the students have never seen before. There is no rehearsals and time to study the music score.”
The state contest will be held March 29 and 29 at Carl Albert high school in Midwest City.
