An early morning fire Wednesday resulted in the complete destruction of a house on Conifer Road. Henryetta fire crews said by the time they arrived the entire house was engulfed in flames. Firemen concentrated their efforts on keeping adjacent pasture areas safe although a small grass fire did break out. “We were fortunate the wind had died down by the time this fire happened,” said fire chief Tyler Weiland. “If the fire had been blown into the dry pastures around the home, we would have had a major problem.” No one was home at the time of the fire and the cause is under investigation. This was the second house fire within 12 hours that Henryetta fire crews had to contend with. A mobile home was completely destroyed Tuesday afternoon west of town. The lone occupant of that mobile home was able to escape but three dogs were lost to the blaze.
