Duford Edward "Ed" Rolston, a resident of Tulsa, and former Henryetta resident, died Nov. 3, 2015 in Muskogee at the age of 68. Ed was born Sept. 17, 1947 in Henryetta to Duford Alfred Rolston and Mary Ellen Merrick Rolston.
He grew up in Henryetta and attended Henryettta Public Schools, graduating from Henryetta High School. Following high school, Ed attended barber school. He worked at Main Street Barber Shop for several years before entering into military service. Ed joined the US Army in August of 1967. He served a tour of duty in Viet Nam where he earned a bronze star decoration, before accepting his honorable discharge in July, 1969. A man of many talents, Ed spent the remainder of his working career in a variety of positions including working as truck driver for Southwest Explosives, Inc.. He also worked considerably as an accomplished painter.
Ed is preceded in death by his father, Duford A. Rolston; a sister, Linda Smith; his grandfather, Ed Merrick; a grandmother, Allene Merrick; and a great nephew, Nathan Arnold.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Merrick Rolston of Okmulgee; a sister, Paula Holden and husband Ray of Okmulgee; two nieces, Diane Walker of Muskogee and Heather Zembrod of Okemah; a nephew, Matt Arnold and wife Rebecca of Edmond; and a son, Ricky Dale Rolston.
Viewing will be held at Integrity Funeral service Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
A graveside committal service will be held  Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Westlawn Cemetery with Tom Freeman officiating. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army.
