Robert Lester Morrow, a resident of Okmulgee, died Nov. 9, 2015 in Okmulgee at the age of 82. He was born Oct. 8, 1933 to Lester Huddy Morrow and Lillie Bell (Dennis) Morrow.
Robert was a graduate of Okemah High Schools where he played football with the Okemah Panthers. Robert served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He also served with the National Guard. He married Patty Sue Lambeth Nov. 5, 1953 in Okemah, Oklahoma.
Robert was Chief of Police with the City of Okmulgee for 20 years and then became the Director of Public Works in Okmulgee for yet another 20 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Jaycee's and also coached Little League in the 1960s and 1970s.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patty Sue (Lambeth) Morrow, also by three sisters, Connie Dalley, Deanna Morrow Patty, and Mary Lea Morrow.
Robert is survived by two daughters: Mary Lynn Smart and husband Daymond of Jenksand Robin Leann Melton and husband Kenny of Henryetta; two grandchildren: James Lane Melton and wife Rebecca of Henryetta and Madison Grace Morrow Melton of Henryetta; one great grandson, Trevor Lee Blase of Henryetta; sister, Joyce Yates of Henryetta, as well as a host of friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Robert will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Integrity Funeral Service.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at Highland Cemetery in Okemah with Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
