Lee Elmer Bryant, a longtime resident of Schulter, died Nov. 16, 2015 in Tulsa at the age of 65. Lee was born June 28, 1950 in Beckley, West Virginia to Harley Dewey Bryant and Martha Jane Roark Bryant.
Lee moved to Schulter when he was about 8 years old. He attended Schulter Public Schools during his formative years and graduated from Schulter High School in 1968. Following his school years, Lee worked as an engineer for Zebco for approximately 18 years. He also worked for 21st Century Investment Company as a pumper in the oilfield for a number of years, where he inspected oil and gas wells. Lee was a longtime member of the Schulter Methodist Church and he served for approximately 12 years on the Schulter School Board. Lee recently retired from the Okmulgee Water Department where he had worked as an operator. Lee was married to Tammy Talburt Sept. 2, 2006 in Eureka Springs, Ark., and they remained happilly together for the past nine years.
Lee is preceded in death by his mother and his father; a son, Steven Bryant; his first wife, Linda Bryant; a father-in-law, Ray Rhyne; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Ward.
Lee is survived by his wife Tammy Bryant of the home; a daughter, Cindy Lawson of Schulter; a granddaughter, Mica Lawon of Schulter; a step-daughter, Amber Melendez of Schulter and her children, Avery and Alexis Melendez and Elijah Moss; a stepdaughter, Kristen Corder and husband Wade of Barnsdall and their children, Ainsley Corder and Jett Corder; a stepdaughter, Brooklyn Coulson and husband Josh of Broken Arrow and their children, Lane Coulson and Sadie Coulson and Aden McCall; a brother, Harley Dewayne Bryant and wife Sandy of Pleasant Valley; 3 sisters, Patricia Leist and husband Glenn of Schulter, Betty Likowski and husband John of Schulter, and Janice Ward of Schulter; by multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family, as well as many good friends.
The family has designated St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 as appropriate for memorial contributions.
Viewing for Lee will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 2 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday November 19, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta with Kris Mayberry and Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Sites, Terry Bryant, Teddy Bryant, Joey Franklin, Wade Corder, and Joshua Coulson.
