The Henryetta scoreboard was busy this week as the Lady Knights chalked up 27 runs in two games and posting a pair of victories in their first home softball stand.
They downed Checotah and Inola with HHS senior Kendall Perez nailing three home runs in the two games and being responsible for 10 RBIs.perez
In the leadoff game with Checotah, the Lady Knights came out strong scoring three runs in each of the first two innings before the lady Wildcats could even get on the board.
HHS shortstop Charee Graham got a three-run homer in the second inning when she sent the ball over right centerfield against the wind. In the opening inning, Shelby Bullard, Perez and Cyah Beaver all scored on RBIs then Graham's homer sent the score to 10-0.
Facing only two runs against them in the third frame, Caprize Graham and Haley Dunn got on with walks then Sydne King singled to left. A single by Skyla Notley drove in one RBI then Zoe Benton hit a sacrifice fly out to left for another run. The bases loaded with Bullard walking and Perez nailed the second pitch over the fence to firmly put the lady Knights firmly in the lead.
bullardHenryetta gave up five runs in the fourth then Denton and King singled to each get an RBI. Notley singled keeping he bases loaded. Benton and Bullard each got on with a single and brought in runs. Perez capped it off and ended the game with her four-run RBI to give the Lady Knights the 20-7 win.
In the second game of the night against Inola, Benton, Bullard and Perez all scored on RBIs in the first but Inola picked up one run the first inning then four in the second to gain a 5-3 advantage.
In the third, Perez, Caprice Graham, Beaver, Notley and Mackenzie Roberts all scored on RBI hits to regain the lead.
The HHS girls added to it in the fourth with runs by Benton, Bullard, Perez, Charee and Caprice Graham, Beaver, Notley and Leah Dunn. That gave the Lady Knights a 17-10 lead.
Henryetta gave up a pair of runs in the third, three in the fourth and one in the fifth.
