Teams, organizations and individuals are being sought to help with Henryetta Home Pride Weekend.
cleanupThe three-day event starts April 29 and runs through the weekend. It is designed to clean up the town and the area.
According to Kyle Kiner, organizer of the project, a special kickoff party is going to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. April 29 at the Cowboy Pocket Park next to the chamber of commerce on Main Street.
"We will be serving hot dogs and drinks to everyone. They are being provided by AtLink Wireless," he said.
There will be free t-shirts, trash bags, water bottles and gloves given to the registered workers.
There will be ten large dumpsters placed around town that people can place their trash and debris in. Kiner said appliances, paint, batteries, solvents, chemicals and tires cannot be put in those dumpsters. He explained those items are considered hazardous waste and must be handled differently. There will be volunteers who will come by individual homes to pick up larger items. Anyone wishing to have those items picked up should call the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce at 918-652-3331.
If groups want to participate, Kiner said some 17 areas in town have been designated for cleanup efforts. "They can chose one of those areas or pick a separate area if they want," he said.

"We are encouraging everyone to participate and Let's Take Back Henryetta," he added.
