George W. May, a former resident of the Henryetta area, died March 11, 2015 in Orange County, California. George was born Feb. 22, 1925 in Bryantto William May and Minnie Worth May.
George grew up and attended school in the Henryetta area. George served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. George married the love of his life, Bertha Ingram on August 21, 1948 in Henryetta. They remained happily married for 57 years until Bertha's death in 2005 George began working as a plumber and devoted his working career as a skilled professional in that field. George and Bertha moved to California in 1955.
He is preceded in death by wife, Bertha May; his mother Minnie and father, William; and by two brothers, Kenneth Ingram and Wilbur Ingram.
George is survived by a son, Kevin May and wife Denise of Corona, Calif.; a son, Greg May and wife Doreen of Santa Anna, Calif.; two granddaughters, Lauren May of Corona and Katelyn May of Santa Anna a sister, June Goins of Glendale, Ariz.; and three brothers, Carl May and wife Wanda of Glendale, Calif., Bill Ingram and wife Alma of Pedley, Calif., and James Ingram and wife Teresa of Cathedral City, Calif.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and many good friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta with Rev. Mike Meeks officiating. Interment will follow immediately under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army.
