A squirrel and overheated wiring caused two power outages over the weekend that affected over 500 people in Henryetta, Dewar and Schulter.
The first outage came Saturday night when a power line overheated catching its supporting pole on fire in the 100 block of Division. That fire was quickly extinguished but it took PSO workers several hours to re-route the power lines.
Not 12 hours later, a squirrel brushed up against two lines near the Henryetta substation causing a fuse breaker to trip.
It required workers a couple of hours to find the cause of the problem then reset the fuse.
