Usually when a cop pulls a person over, it is not a good thing. For a number of Henryetta people, those blue and red lights brought some Christmas cheer.
Instead of handing out citations, officers were handing out envelopes containing cash to make the holiday happier for some local families.
“We were contacted by Del Wagoner this week and she gave us the envelopes to pass out to people,” said police chief Steve Norman.
He said Wagoner told him to make sure the money went to people who needed it. She specifically asked them to watch out for cars containing small children
This is the latest in several years of Christmas kindness by Del and her husband. “We have been involved in her generosity in the past and it is one that we are proud to do,” said the police chief.
She said she is not seeking any recognition or fame for her efforts. “I just want to make sure some people have a merry Christmas.”
