Wilfred W. "Will" Barron of Henryetta, died Dec. 23, 2017 in Tulsa at the age of 73. He was born March 31, 1944 to Rev. Herman L. Barron and Jewell Barron in DeRidder, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Justin H. Barron and Lew Q. Barron.
He was an active member of the Dewar First Baptist Church.
Will retired from the military after a total of 34 and a half years of combined service with the Louisiana Army National Guard, US Army Reserves, then 22 years of full time Active Duty with the US Army Reserves. He also had worked as a civilian with the Department of Defense for three years before entering active duty.
During his military career, Will was awarded 3 army Achievement medals, 4 army Commendation Medals, 2 Meritorious Service Medals, numerous Good Conduct Medals, Recruiting Badge, 4 Certificates of Appreciation, a certificate of Recognition for outstanding service. Numerous Diplomas and Certificates of Completion of training from several US Army Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy S. Barron of the home; son, Jeff Barron; daughter Laura Carraway and husband Michael of Benton, Louisiana; grandson, Cade Carraway of Benton, Louisiana; two stepsons: Clay and Christ Anson of Checotah; two step grandsons, Trey and Jay Anson of Checotah; one step granddaughter, Holly Anson of Checotah; two nieces and four nephews in Louisiana; several step nieces and nephews in Oklahoma.
Viewing will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Wells and Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
