A lot of youthful anglers are being sought to have fun March 10.
IMG 8129The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA) will be holding a free family fishing day at Nichols Park as they complete their work and dedicate the project to the community.
The first 150 youngsters aged 15 and under who register at the park before the fishing fun begins at 10:30 will receive a free fishing rod and reel.
Work that morning by the USA will install the new roof at the shelter house pavilion. Since then, they placed a dozen steel grills at Nichols as well as Jim Hall Lake and McCutcheon Park.
A lunch will be served at 11:30 followed by dedication of the project. Those on hand to participate in the dedication will be mayor Jennifer Clason, Jimmy Fish, Project Leader, Jimmy Curry, OK AFL-CIO President and Forrest Parker, USA Director of Conservation and Community Outreach.
The work as well as materials were completely paid for by volunteers and through the USA Work Boots on the Ground program.
All youngsters must be accompanied by an adult.
