At the end of a special city council meeting Monday, approval was given to return the retirement contributions former city manager Raymond Eldridge had paid while he was fire marshall.
Eldridge held both the city manager’s position and fire marshall’s post for several years.
Those combined jobs were the subject of controversy by the state Firefighters Association. Eldridge had been making payments into his retirement account while fire marshall. The amount of money returned to Eldridge was not revealed.
Council members again tabled an ordinance allowing Suddenlink to have a franchise for a cable system in Henryetta.
City attorney John Insabella said he still has some questions about the franchise but has not received any answers from the cable company legal department.
That issue will be on the March 20 city council agenda.
Approval was given to Young Contracting for purchase of a spur gear drive at the wastewater treatment plant. That bid was for $57,000.
