After a night of thunderstorms, Henryetta residents had to endure one more rou nd of torrential rain Thursday morning.
Within 20 minutes, over an inch of rain fell quickly overwhelming drainage lines and causing spotty flooding issues.
The rain fell upon already soaked earth and a sudden gust of win was all it took to topple a nearly 75-year-old tree at Tenth and Trudgeon. The tree fell across the roadway but city crews were able to clear the road within 20 minutes.
The sudden influx of stormwater quickly swelled both Jim Hall and Nichols park lakes causing their spillways to overflow.
Dewar residents saw several streets along Coal Creek covered with water but it quickly receded with no damage.
