Garland Dee Lawson of Henryetta died June 30 in Tulsa at the age of 81. He was born Dec. 13, 1936 in Port, Okla., to W. Z. Lawson and Easter Lillie (Smith) Lawson.
He married Delores June (Hubbs Lawson, June 10, 1967. Garland did not finish school, he quit in the 6th grade to help take care of his family. Before retiring, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delores, all of his siblings, Mary Brock, Bill Lawson, Faye Rogers, Ann Colwell, Grover Lawson, Jeanie Gibson, Sue Winfrey, Donna "Sis" Simmons, & Donald " Bud" Lawson.
He is survived by two daughters: Lydia Lawson of Henryetta and Patricia Henley of Sand Springs; two granddaughters: Tiffany Henley of Oklahoma City and Cherise Henley of Tulsa; grandson, Ryan Henley of Henryetta as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Garland will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Ryan Wells officiating. Interment will be in Salt Creek Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
