Marie Donathan, a long time resident of Henryetta, died Sept. 23, 2018 in Henryetta at the age of 89. She was born Sept. 15, 1929 to Truman Thomas "T.T." Dickey and Mary (Carder) Dickey. She married Gene Donathan April 14, 1945 and to this union five children were born, Barbara, Donna, Jerry, Joyce, and Mike. She was the manager of the local Braum's store for 12 years.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Henryetta and the Wilson Thimble Club. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gene Donathan, her parents, T.T. and Mary Dickey, granddaughter, Shelley Davis, granddaughter, Cristi Yates, grandson, Avery Moore, four brothers, Wayne Dickey, Earl Dickey, Merle Dickey, and Jack Dickey, also by a son-in-law, Jimmy Davis.
She is survived by five children: Barbara Davis of Henryetta, Donna Wheeler and husband Jim of Pleasant Valley, Jerry Clayton and husband Larry of Pleasant Valley, Joyce Kerchee and husband Jeff of Edmond and Mike Donathan and wife Judy of Henryetta; 14 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brother, Carl Don Dickey and wife Donna of Eufaula; three sisters: Louise Peters of Moore, Bernice Donathan of Henryetta and Wanda Dodge and husband Carlton of Dewar; a very special niece and sidekick, Elaine Dickey of Dewar; also by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Marie will be Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m., with family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Viewing will also be on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until noon.
Pallbearers will be, Eric Yates, Dean Wright, Brandon Wright, Raymond John Moore, Mitch Yates, and Austen Macaluso. Honorary pallbearers will be, Kody Wright, Dillon Wright, Jaxen Wright, Donathan Bianchi, Aden Macaluso, Keith Green, and Steve Dickey.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Wells, Rev. Jack Vance and Rev. Brett Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery with Rev. Phil Tally officiating. Services are under direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
