The Lady Knights swept through the Prague tournament undefeated to take the championship with an 8-3 win against the host Lady Red Devils.
Henryetta started out with a three-run lead in the first inning when Avery Moore singled scoring Jaylynn Joslin. Autumn Blackbear followed that up with a line drive t center scoring Miller and Kasedi Gobin.
Prague threatened with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first.
In the third, Brooklyn Baughman singled scoring Gobin then the Henryetta girls put the win away with runs by Joslin, Bailee Worlow and Gobin in the fourth.
Enjoying a 7-3 lead, the final Henryetta score went on the board with a run by Gobin in the sixth inning.
Prague managed to get a hit in the sixth and another in the seventh but could not convert them to runs.
Henryetta charged to the championship with a 4-3 win over Cushing, 13-0 blowout in three innings against Bethel, 2-1 win over Bristow and 1-0 shutout against Holdenville.
That tournament win gave Henryetta a 12-2 season tally and had head coach Ryan Swallow beaming.
The girls have really been working hard and found ways to win each game,” he said.
“We are starting to come along offensively and that makes us a dangerous team.”
