One of Dewar's fallen heroes was honored Friday morning at the annual Dragon Veteran's Day program.
SGT. Michael Crawford is going to be remembered every day as people drive into Dewar now that two signs designating US 266 as his memorial highway are in place.
State Senator Roger Thompson presented a replica of the highway signs to Crawfords then-widow Ann, and his brother Scott during the program.
During the observance held at the Dewar First Baptist Church students read poems and sang special sogns to the nearly two dozen veterans ranging from World War II to the Middle East.
Following the program, the veterans and their families were treated to a breakfast at the church.
