Doris Ann Panchot, a former resident of Henryetta, died April 22, 2020 at her home in Tulsa at the age of 81. She was born Feb. 3, 1939 in Tulsa to Virgil Thomas Cox and Bernice E. (Hardison) Cox.
Doris worked for many years at Hungry Traveler when it was on the north side of 1-40 with Ann and Benny Leonard. She went to the new Hungry Traveler south of 1-40 and continued working there for many years. She and husband Ray purchased the Hungry Traveler from the Ann Leonard and operated it successfully for several years. After her retirement she and husband Ray moved to Tulsa.
She was a faithful member of Dewar First Baptist Church and will be sorely missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Bernice Cox, husband John Halford, Jr., a son, John Halford III, daughters Jan Evans and Tina Lee Halford also by a brother, Thomas Eugene Cox.
Doris is survived by her husband Ray Panchot of the home in Tulsa; daughter, Ruth Coe of Tulsa; four grandsons: Matthew Evens and Kelly, Anthony Evans and wife Celestia, Justin Daniel Evans and wife Jenny, and Joseph Coe; five great grandchildren: Daniel Evans, Jacob Evans, Ethan Evans, Arin Evans and Emma Evans; two sisters, Clara Ruth Schultz and husband Leonard of Tulsa and Joyce Eagleton of Chouteau; brother, Virgil Ray Cox of Owasso; son-in-law, Terry Evans of Ponca City; also by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Doris will be Monday, April 27 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service.
Due to restrictions of COVID-19 the funeral service will be private.
