Gertrude Lee Cellier, a longtime resident of HenryettadiedOct. 4, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 90. She was born March 17, 2020 in Wetumka to R. L. Williams and Eunice (Nutt) Williams. She married Emile Cellier June 9, 1951 in Van Buren, Ark.
Known to most every as "Gertie", she was renowned for her work as a seamstress. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and worked with the youth department at First Baptist Church in Henryetta and cooked at Falls Creek for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emile Cellier, three brothers, Jerry Williams, Robert Williams, and Charlie Williams. Also, by one sister, Violet Lee Wright.
Gertie is survived by two daughters: Peggy Tipton and husband Steve of Shawnee and Penny Townley and husband Curtis of Newcastle; two grandchildren: Matt Tipton and wife Brook of Oklahoma City and Michelle Hankins and husband Garrett of Newcastle; two great grandchildren, Noah and Bella Hankins; also, by a host of friends and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 at the Pavilion at Wetumka Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Townley officiating. Interment will follow under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
As a precaution and in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, masks will be required to attend the service. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own lawn chair for their comfort during the service. Additional chairs will not be furnished.
