Franklin D. Madden, a resident of rural Henryetta, died May 24, 2015 in Tulsa at the age of 80. He was born Dec. 13, 1934 in Henryetta to Joseph Luther Madden and Mary Elizabeth (Hall) Madden. Frank married Dolores McCullough Sept. 9, 1961. To this union three daughters were born.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He is a member of the Schulter United Methodist Church and attended Dewar First Baptist Church. He was a member of VFW Post 539 and a member of the UAW union. He worked for eleven years at PPG Industries and twenty two years at Tulsa Ford Glass Company, retiring in 1998.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Margaret Decker and Allene F. Pitman, as well as one brother, David Madden.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Madden of the home; three daughters, Jami Collier and husband Brice of Bixby, Judy Varner and husband Terry of Henryetta and Jan Taber and husband Marty of Amarillo; ten grandchildren, Anna Collier of Atlanta, Georgia, Aaron Collier and wife Aaron Dawn of Del City, Jared Collier and wife Leslie of Bartlesville, Matthew Collier of Bixby, Sarah Collier of Bixby, Lauren Robertson and husband Robbie of Kiefer, Kaitlyn Vance and husband Michael of Gainsville, Texas, Cale Varner of Henryetta, Kasey Kissee and husband Rocky of Henryetta, Tyler Taber and wife Abigail of Dallas, Texas, and Tanner Taber of Norman; five great grandchildren; brother, Joe Madden and wife Marie of Copan; sister, Ruth Miller of Hutchison, Kansas; also a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be, Cale Varner, Tanner Taber, Jared Collier, Matt Collier, Aaron Collier, Michael Vance, Rocky Kissee and Robbie Robertson. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Anna Collier, Sarah Collier, Aaron Dawn Collier, Emily Osborne, Leslie Collier, Kasey Kissee, KIaitlyn Vance, Abigail Taber, and Lauren Robertson.
Viewing will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Franklin's grandson, Tyler Taber, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Dewar First Baptist Church Youth Program.
