The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is offering free bacterial testing of private well water due to statewide flooding. The free testing will be available until August 15, 2015.
Anyone who wants to have their wells tested should call 1-800-522-0206 for more information as well as sampling instructions and supplies.
"If your property was affected by the recent disasters, DEQ recommends that you disinfect your well," said Erin Hatfield from ODEQ. Instructions on disinfection are available at http://www.deq.state.ok.us/tornado/dsinfctwtr.pdf
