This past weekend was a busy one for the Henryetta Knights with students representing the cross country, high school band and HHS and Middle School vocal music departments.
Knight cross country runners Kenleigh Kaler, Xander Lollis, Jahse Kranz and Blake Wynne went to Edmond for the state meet. Lollis finished in the top 50 with Kranz coming in just six seconds behind him and Wynne a minute behind Lollis in the 5K run. Kaler placed 73rd in the girls run.
The Knight Brigade band brought home the first place trophy from the OSU homecoming parade. HHS band director Alan Montgomery said this win was number 15 for the musicians since he has been in Henryetta.
Vocal music director Karen Willis said six of her students performed well enough at auditions to go to the second round later this month. They included Sheldon Andrews and Caveryn Foster from high school and Braden Lollis, Jayson Scott, Ruthy Turner and Camrynn Watkins for the seventh through ninth grade ranks.
"If they make it passed second round, they have to learn new music which they will audition in a third round before their first rehearsal with the All State choir in January," she said.
