James L. "Jimmy" Hudson, a resident of Henryetta, died Dec. 8, 2021, in Oklahoma City at the age of 79. He was born Oct. 25, 1942 in Henryetta to James H. Hudson and Pauline (Lane) Hudson.
Jimmy married Betsy Beal May 27, 1967 at First Baptist Church in Henryetta. He served as Lt. Commander, retired, in the United States Navy. After retiring from the Navy he began working for the U.S. Postal service and did so until he retired from there. He also worked in appliance and electronics repair in the Henryetta area for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James H. Hudson and Pauline Hudson, his in-laws, Sidney Beal and Helen Beal.
He is survived by his wife Betsy of the home; four children: James Lane "Jimmy" Hudson II and wife Lorna of Oklahoma City, Sydni Elizabeth Prince and husband Dr. John Prince of Devalls Bluff, Ark.; John David Hudson of Wooster (Boston), Massachusetts and Matthew Stephen Hudson and wife Teri of Edmond; three grandchildren: James Robert Hudson of Oklahoma City, Mattix Hudson and Sarah Hudson both of Edmond; also by a host of friends and acquaintances.
Those serving as pallbearers are, Jimmy Hudson, Matthew Hudson, John Hudson, Dr. John Prince, James Hudson, and Mattix Hudson.
Viewing for Jimmy will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 at Integrity Chapel. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery with military honors presented by the United States Navy Honors Team. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
