An evening of song and a big reveal will take place Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Henryetta High School auditorium.
Members of the school drama class will be presenting a series of songs that were once performed by previous students in musicals over the years.
Drama instructor Justin Been said the Musical Showcase is designed to help pay the costs of the program this year. “It is going to cost a significant amount of money,” he said. Tickets to the Showcase are $5 each and will be available only at the door. “This year’s production is going to be on a grander scale.” The Showcase will start at 7 p.m.
“We will be performing musical numbers from previous productions going back about 40 years. We have chosen the musical numbers our kids like. We will tie the years the musicals were done in the past as well as the actors and actresses who originally performed them.”
The evening will be leading up to the big announcement of the May production. Been said no one has been told what it will be even the students who will make up the cast.
“We have a great group of talented kids who have experience and they are being joined by some new students who have seen the productions and wanted to get involved.”
