Over 500 people of all ages were on hand Friday night to enjoy the fireworks show at the Henryetta golf course. The evening started with a dinner hosted by the Ladies Golf Association. Funds from the ticket sales are used to help with beautification at the course. Once the night set in, only a few flickering blinks of fireflies heralded the start of the second annual fireworks show. To the delight of spectators in lawn chairs, on blankets and sitting in the pickup beds, the fireworks boomed and whistled over the pond on the first hole. Storm clouds slowly moved toward the course with lightning adding nature's version of pyrotechnics. A brief rain shower fell just as the show was wrapping up. "This was a great turnout. We couldn't have asked for better," said Gayle Machetta, a member of the Ladies Association. "We want to thank everyone who helped and made it possible."
