Henryetta voters will have two candidates running for the school board office this coming spring.
On the last day of filing, Shawn Okerson and Ginny Holder both placed their names as candidates for the school board seat currently held by David Bullard. He did not file for re-election. Okerson is a loan officer at First National Bank in Henryetta. Holder retired from her first grade teaching position at Henryetta at the end of the last school year.
That election will be April 4.

UPDATE:Thursday  Kelly Bailey has withdrawn from the Morris school board race. That means Robert Frost will take the school board seat unopposed.

In Morris, Kelly Bailey and Robert Frost both put their names down for the school board seat and will be on the April 4 ballot.
The only other office to be decided by voters will be in Okmulgee for the Ward 2 city council seat. Candidates seeking election to that post include Steven Baldridge, Kathy Maloney Barton, Steven Diamond and Rose Lynch.
The Okmulgee Ward 1 council seat only drew one candidate, William Bryant, and he will be elected automatically with no opposition.
Also taking their school board seats after no one filed against them are:
Gary McGowan at Dewar;
Matthew J Lee at Beggs;
Jason Harvey, Beggs, for Green Country Tech Center;
Leroy Parker, Okmulgee’
Jim Fuller for office 2 and Steven Johnson office 3 at Preston;
Kimberly Howard, Schulter and Charles Lewis, Twin Hills.
