The new year started out on a disappointing note for the Henryetta sales tax revenue.
This January Henryetta received $290,471.38, a drop of $4,179 from last year.That report was based on November business reported to the state in December.
At the same time, the decline was also reported in the use tax check to the town. This month Henryetta received $44,657.47, down $11,305 from a year ago
In the area towns sharing in sales tax monies, the decline was also felt in Okmulgee, down $35,318 from a year ago, Morris a drop of $3,156, Beggs with a decline of $7,518 and Checotah, down $6,599 from January of last year.
Statewide, $199,129,968 in sales tax collections went back to the cities and towns reflecting an increase of $6,000,730 from a year ago.
The Okmulgee County treasury also saw a drop in sales tax revenue. This year the county received $487,169.57, down from the $502,582 a year ago.
