Henryetta high school 2013 graduate Loren Smith is an accomplished cartoonist and now a book author.
The former Henryettan now living in Waxahachie, Texas with her husband and new daughter, will be at the Henryetta library Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. showing and signing her just published book, “Nanny Cat.”
The story deals with the tale of a curious Siamese taking her family’s newborn baby under her watchful care. “Nanny Cat” is a delightful rhyming children's book celebrating the new friendship between a playful cat and an adorable baby.
It can be found on Amazon where it has been listed as a best seller.
She is the daughter of Michelle and Dennis Mitchell.
Following her graduation from HHS, she received a bachelors degree in elementary education then obtained her Master of Special Education in 2022.
She has also been busy doing special art of pets and displaying them through her company Lorenegade Artworks.
The public is invited to stop by and visit with her and hear a reading of her book.
