Within a space of about ten minutes, some 50 years of Henryetta business history was sold Thursday.
The Colonial Restaurant and motel went under the auctioneer's gavel and was purchased by area businessman Doug Wadley.

Around 25 people, spectators and buyers were present for the sale. Sitting in the old restaurant, those attending were surrounded by some leftover remnants of the Collett family including a wall hanging with souvenir spoons from several states and taped and fading newspaper pages honoring Jim Shoulders.
Bidding started at $100,000 then went to $150,000 before sputtering to a halt.

The restaurant and motel was built in the mid-1960s and was one of the first businesses established when East Main was paved and connected to US 75.
